Term Definition
Visual Display The main reason to use a slide shoe when presenting to an audience.
Placeholder The name for the boxes with dotted boarders that contain content such as text, a picture, a chart
Slide Layout How placeholders for text, videos, pictures, charts, shapes, ect. are arranged on a slide
Transition The movement of a slide as it changes to the next slide.
Animations Controls how objects (text & pictures) move on a slide, and the order they appear on the slide
Slide Sorter View displays all slides in your presentation in a mini form on one screen
Bullets For a general list of items when the order of the items does NOT matter
Numbered List When the order of the items DOES matter
Document Header Text that is included at the top of a document.
Margins The blank border on the side of the text.
Clipboard A temporary storage area where you can copy or cut material.
Alignment How paragraphs line up with the margins.
Line Spacing The vertical distance between lines of text.
Hanging Indent When all of the lines of a paragraph are indented except the first one.
Table button [+] The table in the top left of a table that selects the whole table.
Landscape The horizontal orientation of the document.
Replace tool Lets you quickly replace words or phrases.
Template A Pre-made document that you can edit.
Hyperlink A link that is attached to an object that you can click or hoover on to take you to the chosen link
Footnote A foot note is a note that is printed at the bottom of the page
Endnote used to explain, comment on, or provide references to something in a document, goes at the end of a document.
Citation A quote or information that you get from a reference.
